Overview

Alpaca is a US-regulated commission-free stock and crypto broker built for algorithmic trading. Sferica connects to Alpaca through Tickerly so you can route TradingView signals to live or paper accounts. Fractional shares are supported, making it easy to scale strategies across many tickers without huge capital requirements.

Setup in 3 Steps

1. Generate Alpaca API credentials

   Sign into your Alpaca dashboard and open the API Keys section. Pick the environment you want to trade in — Paper Trading for risk-free testing, or Live Trading once you're ready with real funds — and generate a new key pair. Alpaca returns an API key ID and a secret key. Copy both: the secret is only shown once at creation.

2. Create the Alpaca connector in Sferica

   In your Sferica dashboard, open TradingView Connector Configurations and create a new connector with Alpaca selected. Paste the API key ID and secret, and mark whether the key is Live or Paper — Sferica routes orders to the matching Alpaca endpoint. Sferica returns a unique pointer string that links your TradingView alerts to this Alpaca account.

3. Create the TradingView alert

   Open a Sferica strategy detail page, click through to the chart on TradingView, and create an alert. Use the alert message structure documented in "Setting Up TradingView Alerts" and include the pointer from step 2 — that's what routes the alert through Sferica to your Alpaca account. Once saved, every alert executes automatically.
