Overview

BitMEX is one of the original crypto derivatives exchanges, focused on perpetual futures contracts. Sferica connects BitMEX through Tickerly for automated entry, exit, and risk management on inverse (BTC-margined) and linear (USDT-margined) perpetuals.

Setup in 3 Steps

1. Generate BitMEX API credentials

   In BitMEX, open Account & Security → API Keys and create a new key with "Order" permission enabled. Keep "Withdraw" off. BitMEX returns two values: an API ID (their name for the API key) and a Secret. The secret is shown only once at creation, so copy it immediately. You can optionally restrict the key to a CIDR IP range for extra safety.

2. Create the BitMEX connector in Sferica

   In your Sferica dashboard, open TradingView Connector Configurations and create a new connector with BitMEX selected. Paste the API ID and secret. Sferica returns a unique pointer string that links your TradingView alerts to this BitMEX account.

3. Create the TradingView alert

   Open a Sferica strategy detail page, click through to the chart on TradingView, and create an alert. Use the alert message structure documented in "Setting Up TradingView Alerts" and include the pointer from step 2 — that's what routes the alert through Sferica to your BitMEX account. Once saved, every alert executes automatically.
