Overview

MetaTrader 5 is the most widely used multi-asset trading platform with hundreds of supporting brokers worldwide. Sferica bridges MT5 through a dedicated MQL5 Expert Advisor that listens for TradingView alerts and routes them to your MT5 broker account in real time. This unlocks automated trading on virtually any forex, CFD, futures, or stocks broker that supports MT5 — including most prop-firm platforms and partner brokers such as Ultima Markets.

Key Features

  • Compatible with hundreds of MT5 brokers

  • Native MQL5 Expert Advisor bridge

  • Forex, indices, commodities, stocks, and futures

  • Compatible with most major prop firms that allow EA-based automation (check your specific prop firm's current rules)

  • Lot sizing computed from account balance per Sferica risk rules

Setup in 3 Steps

  1. Generate your MT5 connector pointer

In your Sferica dashboard, open TradingView Connector Configurations and create a new pointer with MetaTrader 5 selected as the target platform. Sferica returns a unique pointer string — you'll plug it into the Sferica Connector EA in step 2 and reference it in the TradingView alert in step 3. Full walkthrough in the MetaTrader Connection docs.

  2. Install the Sferica Connector EA on MT5

Download the Sferica Connector EA (MQL5) from your dashboard and attach it to any chart in your MetaTrader 5 terminal. Paste the pointer from step 1 into the EA's input settings so it knows which incoming alerts belong to your account. For 24/7 execution, run MT5 on a Windows VPS so the EA keeps running while your computer is off.

  3. Create the TradingView alert

Open a Sferica strategy detail page, click through to the chart on TradingView, and create an alert. Build the alert message using the structure documented in "Setting Up TradingView Alerts" and include the pointer from step 1 — that's what routes the alert through Sferica to your MT5 Connector EA. Once saved, every alert executes on your broker account automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which MT5 brokers are supported?

Any MT5 broker. The Sferica EA runs inside your MT5 terminal and routes orders through whatever broker your account is hosted with.

Is MT5 supported on prop-firm accounts?

Yes — the EA runs on any MT5 account, including most major prop firms that allow EA-based automation. Check your specific prop firm's current rules on EA usage before enabling a strategy, since prop-firm policies on automation change frequently.

Do I need to leave my computer on?

For the EA to execute, MT5 must be running. Use a Windows VPS to keep it 24/7 — most prop firms recommend the same.
